Nuxt newsletter form
Add a newsletter signup to your Nuxt site with no server route. One email field in a Vue component, and subscribers land in your inbox or your email tool. No backend of your own.
How to build it
- Create a form in your Formpaste dashboard and copy its access key.
- Copy the Vue component above into a Nuxt page or component.
- Replace YOUR_ACCESS_KEY_HERE with your access key, then deploy.

Add a Formpaste newsletter signup to my Nuxt 3 app. Use a Vue component with a single email field that POSTs as application/x-www-form-urlencoded (URLSearchParams) to https://api.formpaste.com/submit with a hidden access_key input. No server route.Or connect the Formpaste MCP server to Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Claude Desktop, VS Code, or any mcp-remote client. See the setup guide.
Nuxt gotchas
Nuxt gives you server routes, but for a form you do not need one. A Formpaste form is a Vue component that posts straight to Formpaste, so there is no server/api handler and no Nitro route to write. It works with SSR or a static nuxi generate build.
No server route needed
You do not need a server/api/ endpoint or a Nitro handler. The component posts directly to the Formpaste endpoint, which keeps the app deployable anywhere, including a fully static nuxi generate build.
It is a Vue component
Nuxt is Vue, so the form is a single-file component with v-model and an @submit.prevent handler. Use the Vue code from the toggle above - it works the same inside Nuxt.
Pinia only if you want shared state
For a multi-step form you can hold the step state in a Pinia store if it spans routes, but local component state is simpler for a single-page wizard. Either way the final step posts once to Formpaste.
SSR or static, same form
Because the form posts to an external endpoint, it works whether you deploy with SSR or as a static site. No server code of yours runs at submit time.
What to get right
One field converts best
A newsletter form should ask for email only. Every extra field lowers signups.
Confirm before you celebrate
Show a subscribed message on success. If you need double opt-in, send the confirmation from your email tool, not the form.
Push to your email tool
Forward submissions to your ESP with a webhook so new subscribers land where you send campaigns.
How it works
Three simple steps for form submissions to land in your email inbox.
Create your form, set your form's action URL to Formpaste's endpoint, and add your access key.
Create your form
Sign up, verify your email, and create an access key in your dashboard.
Copy the code
Paste the snippet above into your project. Pick CSS or Tailwind to match your site.
<script setup lang="ts">
import { ref } from "vue";
const status = ref<"idle" | "sending" | "ok" | "error">("idle");
async function onSubmit(e: Event) {
status.value = "sending";
const form = new FormData(e.target as HTMLFormElement);
const res = await fetch("https://api.formpaste.com/submit", { method: "POST", body: new URLSearchParams(form as any) });
status.value = res.ok ? "ok" : "error";
}
</script>
<template>
<p v-if="status === 'ok'">Thanks - your message was sent.</p>
