Jekyll RSVP form

Add an RSVP form to your Jekyll site with no backend, ideal for GitHub Pages. A yes-or-no dropdown and a guest count, drop it in an include, and replies land in your inbox. No server required.

How to build it

  1. Create a form in your Formpaste dashboard and copy its access key.
  2. Add the HTML above to a Jekyll include or page.
  3. Replace YOUR_ACCESS_KEY_HERE with your access key, then rebuild and deploy.

Give me a plain HTML RSVP form with name, email, an attending select (Yes/No/Maybe), and a number field for guests for a Jekyll site that POSTs to https://api.formpaste.com/submit with a hidden access_key input. No server, no JavaScript.

Or connect the Formpaste MCP server to Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Claude Desktop, VS Code, or any mcp-remote client. See the setup guide.

Jekyll gotchas

Jekyll renders static HTML, so a Formpaste form is plain markup in a layout, include, or page. It works cleanly on GitHub Pages, where you cannot run server code at all.

Drop it in an include for reuse

Put the form markup in _includes and pull it into any page or layout with a single include tag. That keeps one copy of the form across the site.

Liquid leaves your HTML alone

Jekyll processes Liquid, not your form markup, so the HTML passes through untouched. Only escape a literal double-brace if you ever need one inside the form.

Perfect for GitHub Pages

GitHub Pages serves static files and runs no backend, so a form that posts to Formpaste is the straightforward way to collect submissions there.

Keep the hidden access_key

The hidden access_key input must stay in the markup. It tells Formpaste which form received the submission.

What to get right

Yes or no is a select, headcount is a number

A dropdown for attending and a number field for guest count give you a headcount you can total without parsing free text.

Collect just enough

Name, email, attending, and party size cover most events. Add a notes field only if you need dietary or accessibility details.

Confirm the RSVP

Reply-to is set to the guest, so a one-line reply confirms you have them down. Forward RSVPs to a spreadsheet with a webhook if you are tracking a big list.

How it works

Three simple steps for form submissions to land in your email inbox.
Create your form, set your form's action URL to Formpaste's endpoint, and add your access key.

1

Create your form

Sign up, verify your email, and create an access key in your dashboard.

2

Copy the code

Paste the snippet above into your project. Pick CSS or Tailwind to match your site.
